We have been following Random Golf Club from the USA for a long time and are obviously pleased that the concept has now also reached Sweden.

- Who are you? Tell us a little about yourself.
My name is Robin S. Olin and I live in Bunkeflostrand together with my golf-crazy 4-year-old son and my wife.

- What is Random Golf Club?
RGC is an international community with the motto "All are Welcome". RGC was founded by golf hero Erik Anders Lang with the goal of welcoming more people to golf.
- I want to join a Meet up, how do I do that?
Keep an eye on @randomgolfclub_sweden where we post all the information about our Meetups. Eventually, an app will be launched there which will serve as our primary platform.

- Do you play much golf yourself?
I found golf quite late in life and played every spare moment more or less! Once I became a parent, there was naturally less free time and therefore less golf. When the pandemic hit and I, like many others, was furloughed, there was a lot of golf, which I would like to say was my own salvation to get through a furlough without climbing the walls.
- What do you think about dress codes on golf courses?
I think everyone should be allowed to dress however they want and feel comfortable. There is a stigma surrounding golf and golfers that I believe needs to be worked away in order to continue developing and attracting more people to golf!

- What changes do you think golf can make to attract more people to start playing?
Beyond what was mentioned above, where I believe we must discard the conservative thinking regarding dress codes, we must make golf more accessible!
Everyone who is curious should be able to try golf without feeling that they have to buy "golf clothes," purchase expensive clubs, get a green card, and become a member for thousands of kronor. We have to lower the threshold into golf.
For RGC Sweden, we have tried to focus our Meetups on Pay&Play courses, which makes it possible for EVERYONE to join. Golf should not just be for those who can afford it, those who dress "right," or for those whose friends play. Golf should be for EVERYONE!

We thank Robin for his time and wish him the best of luck. We at Tap in Birdie are already signed up for the next MeetUp at RUFF in Helsingborg this coming weekend.
All the best!
